Your Reiki appointment

What to Expect from Your Reiki Session

A gentle guide to help you feel comfortable before your appointment, whether you are visiting in person or receiving remote healing from home.

A calm, simple process

Your session, step by step

Reiki is intended to feel gentle, respectful and unhurried. You stay fully clothed, you can ask questions at any point, and the session is adapted around your comfort.

1. Settle

You arrive, get comfortable and have time to ask anything before the session begins.

2. Receive

Reiki is offered gently while you remain fully clothed and resting in a calm space.

3. Ground

After the session, you have a moment to come back slowly and take things gently.

Before your session

Arriving and settling in

When you arrive, there will be time to settle, ask any questions and talk briefly about what has brought you to Reiki. You do not need to prepare anything complicated. Simply arrive as you are.

If you are receiving remote healing, choose a quiet space where you can sit or lie comfortably. You may wish to have water nearby, turn off notifications and use a blanket if you like to feel cosy while resting.

Comfort first

What to wear

Reiki sessions are fully clothed. Wear comfortable clothing that allows you to relax. Soft layers can be helpful because your temperature may change slightly when your body settles into rest.

You may be invited to remove outdoor shoes, coats or anything that feels uncomfortable, but there is no need to remove clothing for the treatment.

During the treatment

What happens during Reiki?

You will usually lie on a treatment couch or sit comfortably in a chair. Michelle will offer Reiki through a series of calm hand positions, either with gentle touch or with hands held slightly above the body.

The session is quiet and peaceful. You can close your eyes, rest, breathe naturally and simply allow yourself to receive. You can speak at any point if you need to adjust, ask a question or prefer a hands-off approach.

After your session

How you may feel afterwards

Everyone experiences Reiki differently. Some people feel calm, sleepy, lighter, emotional, warm or deeply relaxed. Others simply notice that they have had space to pause and breathe.

After your appointment, it is usually helpful to drink water, avoid rushing where possible and notice how you feel over the rest of the day.

Locations

In-person and remote sessions

In-person appointments are available from a private treatment space in Pevensey Bay, with additional availability in Battle. Remote healing can be arranged by Zoom, phone or as a quiet agreed time from your own home.

If you are unsure which option is best, you can contact Healing You before booking.

A gentle note

Reiki and medical care

Reiki is offered as a complementary wellbeing practice. It is not a replacement for medical advice, diagnosis or treatment. If you have medical concerns, please speak to your GP or a qualified healthcare professional.
